As part of our journey in the Dacorum’s Dragon Apprentice Challenge, our team had the privilege of visiting our chosen charity partner, Sunnyside Rural Trust. The visit was an inspiring opportunity to connect with the team, share our ideas, and see first-hand the incredible work being carried out at Sunnyside.

When we arrived, we spent time sitting down with the Sunnyside team to discuss our plans for the challenge. We were able to share our ideas for fundraising and talk about how our efforts could best support their projects. The conversation gave us valuable guidance and encouragement, and it was exciting to start shaping our plans with direct input from the charity itself.

After our discussion, we were taken on a tour of the site. The team showed us the wide range of projects they run, including horticulture, gardening, and animal care. These activities not only support the charity but also provide vital opportunities for people with learning disabilities to develop new skills, grow in confidence, and gain independence.

During the tour, we met staff and participants who gave us real insight into the positive impact Sunnyside has on individuals and the wider community. It was inspiring to see how their work creates both opportunities and a strong sense of belonging.

The visit gave us a much deeper appreciation of why supporting Sunnyside Rural Trust is so important. We left feeling inspired, motivated, and determined to make our fundraising efforts a success. Working alongside such a dedicated and impactful organisation is an incredible opportunity, and we are excited to continue this partnership as we progress in the Dragon Apprentice Challenge.
